With Valentine’s season just around the corner, everyone is constantly looking for new places to dine with their loved ones – including some of our very own teachers here at Grove!
For Ms. Whiston, her most romantic pick for a Valentines date would be Cafe Piccolo, an Italian trattoria with beautiful open gardens, fountains, and a fire pit, located at 3222 E Broadway, Long Beach, CA 90803. “The location itself is just breathtaking,” she explains. Her meal of choice is the Chicken Piccata, a delicious dish of chicken tenders sauteed in Garlic Caper Lemon Sauce for $19.95. Desert-wise, Ms. Whiston “loves a good dark chocolate,” preferably Cadbury. However, most of the sweets she enjoys on the daily are artisanal and therefore can’t exactly be named, as they come from several different places.
As for Ms.Trinidad , Pita Jungle will be her restaurant of choice when it comes to a Valentine’s date. Located at 1200 Bison Ave, Newport Beach, CA 92660, this chain of Mediterranean-based dining offers a variety of healthy options in sleek environments. During her time there, Ms. Trinidad often indulges in the Chicken Shawarma ($7.99), a delicious wrap filled with roasted chicken, mixed greens, tomatoes, onions, pickles, garlic sauce, and tahini. For a cheap alternative, she believes that “In N Out is always the safe bet.” In terms of chocolates, Ms. Trinidad favors anything with almonds regardless of the brand name.
So this Valentine’s Day, when you’re racking your brain to find a romantic location to take your significant other, keep these choices in mind – recommended by our very own teachers here at Grove!
