On November 20th, Tiffany Huynh (11), Vivian Daravong (12) and Elisha Vo (12) competed at CIF individuals at Jack Kramer Club. The top two singles and top two doubles are eligible to play in CIF individuals.
Last year, Tiffany Huynh was also #1 in league so she got to play in CIF individuals also. She beat her opponent in the first round and in the second round, she was up against a seeded player. She already knew her fate going against such an amazing player but she says it was just an honor to be able to play against her. This year, Tiffany went against Lauren Panajotovic from Mayfield Senior School. It was a struggle and Tiffany came out with a loss. She comments, “CIF Individuals is always an amazing experience for me to see other FANTASTIC players who I look up to so much. Even though this year I didn’t make it to the second round, it was a goodmatch in the first.”
Elisha and Vivian went up against a team from South Torrance High School. Elisha tells us, “It’s such an honor to represent our school in CIF Individuals. It was honestly a bittersweet moment. Knowing it was one of the last times I was going to play competitively, I wanted to go out there and have fun. Although Vivian and I lost the first round, it was a lot of fun playing opponents that tested our skills and boundaries.” Her partner Vivian says, “I was happy to make it to CIF Individuals. Even though it ended quickly, I thought it was a good experience and a fun way to finish tennis for me.”
That’s the official wrap for the girls tennis season this year. Seniors left with good memories and experiences and the others are working hard to prepare for the next season. Congratulations, Lady Argos!
