After making CIF and playing a hard-fought game, GGHS Varsity Waterpolo’s season has come to an end. Although they lost, they had an admirable effort against the undefeated Beverly Hills with a close score of (12-14). They had success throughout the year posting an overall record of (14-11). JV also played well posting a record of (4-5), a major improvement from the previous year.
When the Argos were locked in, they were dominant; The season featured 9 double digit wins, highlighted by games at LQ (14-4) Santa Ana (15-2) and Rancho (20-4). When asked why so many of their wins came by double digits, Tam Huynh (12) said, “When we’re in the zone, playing with chemistry,we just are impossible to beat. We can beat almost anybody at our best.”
Overall, this season has been a pleasant endeavor and the members of Varsity Waterpolo should be congratulated on an impressive effort. And as many members are underclassmen, next year looks to be an exciting season as well.
