Boy’s Volleyball Serving up Hard Work

The weather’s warming up, allergies suddenly erupting, and boys volleyball season is kicking off. If you find yourself wandering around the south gym after school, you’ll be sure to find our boys putting in work to make this season the best yet. With aspirations and hopes of claiming league champions and our varsity focusing on heading into CIF already, all levels are looking to improve and clean up their game during preseason and practice.

Preseason has seen many improvements and also room to grow. Varsity matched up against Long Beach Jordan and successfully claimed their victory after 5 longs sets, (25-18), (25-15), (14-25), (15-25), and (25-22) — resiliently saving the game. Junior Varsity dominated with (25-18) and (25-15), and our Frosh recently swept the Damien with (25-7) and (25-10). Varsity Captain Andrew Nguyen (12) states, “ I’m looking forward to all the challenges we have to face as a team during season. Preseason is difficult; we have a lot to work on together especially if we want to progress as a team but I know we can do it.” With this, we wish our boys volleyball bunches of luck for them to achieve their goals!
