Out of the many employees in the Garden Grove Unified School District, Elizabeth Flickinger, the school’s attendance clerk at Garden Grove High School, was recognized as Classified Employee of the Month. The Employee of the Month is an award given to an outstanding staff member or employee for their dedication, leadership, and service in the Garden Grove district. One of her colleagues, Mrs. Fagel, sees Mrs. Flickinger as not only a co-worker, but a friend. She describes Mrs. Flickinger as someone who “always has a smile on her face and goes above and beyond to help everyone out.”
Elizabeth has been working in the Garden Grove school district for 20 years, having joined the district in 2000. Before fulfilling a full time position as an attendance clerk at Garden Grove High School, Betty held many positions such as noon duty supervisor and testing clerk at Bolsa Grande High School.
She states, “I was and still am shocked and embarrassed [to be named Classified Employee of the Month]. I love my job, the staff, and of course, the students.” She feels lucky, blessed, and thrilled to be working with amazing students and staff at Garden Grove High School.
Thank you, Mrs. Flickinger, for everything you bring to your job at GGHS and GGUSD as a whole. You deserve every bit of the recognition for all that you do for us!
