Our Mighty Argos have done it again with an incredible comeback victory against Sunny Hills in their first round of CIF. Argos were trailing 7-21 with 0:36 left in the first half. Sunny Hills’ Alex Jung seemed unstoppable in the first half, rushing for 281 yards for the game. But In the second half, with adjustments in the defense, playoff experience, and the Argo Spirit, our boys sealed a trip to the Quarterfinals. Dominik Sanchez (12) rushed for 160 yards, Brandon Coleman (12) had 16 tackles, a 4Q Interception, and 1 TD. Mike Carrillo (11) had 3 TDs. QB Jacob Zazueta (11) rushed for 81 yards and passed for 101 yards. Sanchez later shared, “We really are a good team and have lots of talent that can’t go to waste. I feel like we do have a good chance of making it to finals! I know all the Seniors don’t want it to be their last game, so we want to be able to keep going and not stop.” Coach Cepeda was beaming with pride afterwards and credits our boys for their gritty comeback and never say die attitude and believes that if they continue playing at this level, there is no stopping this team. Come support our Argos this Friday (11/17) against Silverado at 7:00pm on our own Michael Monsoor Stadium.
